Thomas K. Shanner “Toby” is Of Counsel with RJS LAW. Since 2002, Mr. Shanner has focused his career on Bankruptcy Law, Probate, and Estate Planning. Thomas K. Shanner has filed over 2,500 bankruptcy cases and has extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of the bankruptcy process. He is highly qualified to advise and guide clients on how best to obtain relief from personal, business, and tax debts.
Mr. Shanner is a people person who is driven to solve problems and improve the financial lives of those he represents. With a firm knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, Mr. Shanner will explain the differences between a Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy case and based upon your individual situation, detail the best option to pursue. Bankruptcy goals include remedies to eliminate or reduce debt (all debt including credit cards, medical bills, personal loans, taxes) saving a home from foreclosure, a car from repossession, stopping a pending or current lawsuit, stopping a wage garnishment, and stopping creditor harassment and collection.
Admitted to the Central and Southern Districts of California, Toby Shanner will work to obtain relief for you from all creditors and debts. Toby will also determine if taxes due to the state or federal government can be discharged (wiped out in a bankruptcy case).

Mr. Shanner is a native San Diegan. He earned his undergraduate degree in English Literature from San Diego State University and his Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law. Toby enjoys spending time with his three daughters and a highly active lifestyle.
