Andy J. Epstein is an Associate Attorney with extensive experience representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Franchise Tax Board (FTB), Employment Development Department (EDD), and California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA). With more than 40 years of professional experience, Andy advises individuals and businesses on tax controversies, bankruptcy, estate planning, corporate formation, and nonprofit tax compliance.
Andy began his career at Panell Kerr Forster in Los Angeles, preparing complex tax returns for high-profile clients. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder, and both a Juris Doctor and Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law. During law school, he earned the Ralph Gano Miller Award for the highest GPA in tax law courses.
In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Andy is certified by the State Bar of California as both a Tax Specialist and a Bankruptcy Specialist.
Born and raised in New York, Andy is a lifelong Yankees fan and also roots for the Padres. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, theater, movies, and exploring new restaurants.
