Remy Hogan is an Associate Attorney at our law firm. Ms. Hogan assists our attorneys with client matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Franchise Tax Board (FTB), Employment Development Department (EDD), and California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDFTA).
Ms. Hogan earned both her Juris Doctor and Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of San Diego School of Law. During her time at USD, she was actively engaged in student organizations, serving as Chair of the Tax Clinics within the Tax Law Society and Vice President of the Middle Eastern Law Students Association. She was honored with the Judge David Laro Scholarship and the Linden Root Dickinson Tax Scholarship for her academic excellence, community engagement, and commitment to the field of taxation.
In addition to her legal work, Ms. Hogan is an active member of the Arab American Bar Association and the Lawyer’s Club of San Diego, regularly attending networking events and engaging with the legal community. She also contributes to mentorship programs within the legal community by assisting students applying to law school with refining their applications.
Ms. Hogan graduated summa cum laude from the University of La Verne, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations. She served as the Editor-in-Chief of the La Verne Magazine, published stories as a staff reporter for the university’s Campus Times, and was an on-air personality on the campus radio station, LeoFM. Ms. Hogan participated in advocacy-based extracurriculars, including serving as a Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences in the student government, and representing her sorority as President, attending conferences as a voting delegate.
Before attending law school, Ms. Hogan worked with Lendistry, a loan agency responsible for processing applications for the California Relief Grant. In this role, she assisted small businesses and non-profits with their monetary relief applications to the state of California to obtain working capital during the pandemic. She worked directly with clients reviewing tax returns and other official qualifying business documents. Ms. Hogan also served on a team working with California and New York legislatures to draft policies making grants more accessible to small businesses and non-profits.
In her free time, Ms. Hogan enjoys playing pickleball, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
