Kaveh Imandoust focuses his practice on tax planning and controversy. Mr. Imandoust has 20 years of experience in the taxation arena advising clients across various specialties including corporate & partnership, mergers & acquisitions, multi-state & international, research & development, credits & incentives, and retirement/estate planning. He has industry experience in real estate, technology, life-science, entertainment, professional services, hospitality, retail, and cannabis.
Kaveh also represents clients in tax audits, appeals, and collection matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), California Franchise Tax Board (FTB), Employment Development Department (EDD), and California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA).
Immediately prior to his time at RJS Law, Mr. Imandoust was the Tax Director for the flagship Los Angeles office of a top 100 international accounting firm. Kaveh gained unique experience working for both a former Vice-Chair of the Tax Section of the State Bar of California as well as a former Chair of the Federal Tax Committee of the California Society of CPAs. Mr. Imandoust is a Sempra Energy alum of their financial leadership tax rotation program. Kaveh serves clients as outside chief tax officer/chief financial officer for various organizations, including both for-profit and tax-exempt ranging from start-ups to businesses with over 1,000 employees.
Mr. Imandoust holds a Master of Business Taxation from the Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California, a Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a Bachelor in Commerce degree with an emphasis in Corporate Financial Management from the Driehaus College of Business at DePaul University.
Kaveh also teaches graduate level business, accounting, and tax courses as an adjunct professor, helping design courses for the veteran-founded, non-profit National University. In Kaveh’s free time he spends time with his son, watches sci-fi, practices medieval combat, and following politics.
