Immigration and Nationality Lawyer
Caroline Larochelle Nadeau is an immigration attorney with RJS LAW, bringing 15 years of legal experience to clients navigating the U.S. immigration system. She represents clients in federal immigration and nationality matters throughout the United States and abroad. She is also internationally trained in both common-law and civil-law systems.
As a military spouse and former military child, Caroline is personally committed to helping active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, Guard members, and military families navigate immigration and nationality matters. She assists with issues that may arise during overseas relocation, the birth of a child abroad, family separation, Military Parole in Place, Deferred Action, consular processing, and naturalization options connected to military service.
Caroline has successfully handled hundreds of military immigration cases and understands that these matters often require special consideration. Military families face unique challenges involving deployment, relocation, separation, and access to benefits. Caroline helps clients navigate these issues with practical guidance focused on family unity and career stability.
International Academic and Professional Foundation
Caroline earned both a Juris Doctor in Common Law and a Civil Law degree from the University of Ottawa, giving her formal training in both major legal traditions. She also holds an Honors Bachelor in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa, a background that focusses her work with clients whose cases often involve international mobility, family separation, overseas military orders, and consular processing from complex countries.
She was previously admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister with the Law Society of Upper Canada, where she practiced as a lawyer in Canada before immigrating to the United States through her U.S. military member spouse and becoming a licensed lawyer in the United States. A dual citizen of Canada and the United States and fluent in English and French, she brings both a professional and personal immigration perspective to her practice.
Military Spouse and Immigrant History
Caroline previously served as a Pro Bono attorney and Board Member with the American Immigration Lawyers Association Military Assistance Program, a program dedicated to supporting service members and their families with immigration needs. She believes that military families should have access to trusted legal guidance when immigration issues affect their ability to serve this country.
Clients turn to Caroline because she understands that immigration cases are deeply personal; it may determine whether a spouse can remain in the United States, whether a parent can reunite with a child, whether a service member can focus on a mission without fear for a loved one’s status, or whether a family can plan its future with confidence.
Caroline’s own immigration journey also informs the way she works with clients. Having practiced law in Canada before immigrating to the United States through her U.S. military member spouse, she understands the uncertainty, documentation demands, and emotional weight that can come with the immigration process.
At RJS LAW, Caroline supports clients with immigration matters that often intersect with family unity, military service, humanitarian concerns, and long-term planning. Caroline approaches each matter with diligence, empathy, and a commitment to helping clients move forward with confidence.
