History of RJS Law

Califonia Tax AttorneyRJS Law was founded in 2003 by attorney Ronson J. Shamoun.  RJS Law has become one of the most honest, ethical and trustworthy tax attorneys in San Diego and California.  Having graduated from USD with his Juris Doctor and LLM in Taxation, he noticed that San Diego and California was lacking an appealing resource for those individuals owing to the IRS and California taxation boards as a California Tax Attorney.

At the time most tax attorneys in San Diego could be found in a small tax department at large law firms practicing successfully in a multitude of areas, but never specializing in tax. Ronson wanted fill this gap, and set out to open San Diego’s best tax law firm, specializing solely in taxation and providing a unique and personal experience of a small specialty firm at a reasonable cost.

California Tax Attorney

RJS Law was founded as The Law Office of Ronson J. Shamoun, APC, consisting solely of Ronnie and a single paralegal. Throughout the years the firm has grown to its current team of five associate attorneys, an in house CPA, eight law clerks, and three administrative staff members. Each of our attorneys has, or is in the process of attaining, their LLM in taxation and is a true expert in tax controversy. Through this experience, RJS LAW has earned a reputation for being the top tax law firm in San Diego. In 2009 and 2010 Mr. Shamoun was honored as a Top Young Attorney by the San Diego Daily Transcript. In 2013 Mr. Shamoun was recognized with 5 of the top legal awards in San Diego: San Diego Daily Transcript Top Attorney, San Diego Daily Transcript Top Young Influential, San Diego Magazine’s Top Lawyer, American Lawyer Media’s Top Lawyers in California, and was awarded with the “AV” rating by Martindale Hubbell for legal excellence and ethics. He is also a frequent legal commentator for many local media outlets including Fox 5 News, KUSI News, NBC 7 News, and ABC Channel 10 News in San Diego.

RJS LAW prides itself on their extensive community involvement. Ronson is a born and bred San Diegan, attending Grossmont High School in La Mesa, and completing all of his higher education at USD. He is very involved in the Ocean Beach community as a member of the Ocean Beach Main Street Association, is this year’s honorary chair for the Grossmont Hospital Foundation Gala, and is a prominent figure in the Chaldean community. Our associate attorneys boast extensive community involvement credentials of their own, participating in organizations such as Rotary Club, Big Brother Big Sister, Rwandan Orphan Project, Young Tax Lawyers, and the San Diego County Bar Association.

Amidst the expansion of our firm, RJS LAW had outgrown its original offices in San Diego’s East Village. In the summer of 2012 RJS LAW relocated to the newly renovated R J Shamoun building across from the Civic Center in Downtown San Diego. Walking distance from all major court houses and financial institutions, our location serves to enhance our connections and access to the agencies and other tax professionals in San Diego, and is effectively escorting us into our second decade of practice and legal excellence.  RJS Law is an expert California Tax Attorney.
